Is it the personal God of the Judeo-Christian tradition? Or is God simply a metaphor for the energy that manifests all physical things? I think it depends on your culture. In Western culture, God is generally seen as a separate entity, over and above everything that is worldly. This is not generally the case in Eastern religions, where god is the energy that connects all physical things.
